Control the maximum depth of an application's windows, using the NXWindowDepthLimit default. This can be useful when you have a Color NeXT and applications which create large color windows. By forcing some applications to use more shallow windows, you can save memory and speed up toggling between programs. See the NextDeveloper documentation for more information.\
\f0\b Usage\
\f1\b0 \
Select the application(s) whose color depth limit you wish to modify, then click the appropriate radio button at the bottom of the panel. Click the Test switch if you want to force applications to use deeper windows than the display hardware directly supports
don't use this unless you have a good reason. You will have to quit and restart the application(s) for these changes to take effect.\
\f0\b Global Settings
\f1\b0 \
Use the radio buttons and the Test switch at the top of the panel to control the GLOBAL setting for NXWindowDepthLimit. This is the setting used by applications which haven't had an explicit depth limit set.\
Selecting "none" causes the system to use the display hardware as the limiting factor when setting the default depth.\
\f0\b Update
\f1\b0 \
Click the Update button to rescan the defaults database. This happens automatically everytime you switch to the "Window Depth Limit" preferences module.\
\f0\b Problems\
\f1\b0 \
Applications which haven't written anything to the defaults database do not show up in the list.
